Kerry Sparks
Kerry Sparks represents a wide range of fiction and nonfiction and is always on the hunt for books that combine a solid hook, great writing, and that have an undeniably fresh but also relatable voice. She joined the LGR team in 2008 and works with many of the same clients she signed up in her early years as an agent. Coming to publishing after several years in the film and television industry, she often gravitates toward books that have a cinematic feel or visual element that lend to film or television adaptation. Kerry’s clients include NYT bestselling, award-winning, and critically acclaimed writers across many genres.
Kerry was born in California, grew up in Oregon, spent her twenties and thirties in LA and New York and Portland before settling down in a lovely leafy Midwestern college town with her husband and three daughters. Prior jobs include: waiting tables at a nursing home in rural Washington, driving a golf cart around the Universal backlot, logging hours of reality tv footage at MTV, bagging groceries at Whole Foods, and popping popcorn at an art house movie theatre by the beach. She graduated with honors from California State University, Los Angeles with a degree in English and Creative Writing, where she also published short stories and wrote and produced plays. Kerry is the co-author of the hipster baby name book Hello, My Name Is Pabst and will gladly help clients name their characters upon request.
